Next Nintendo 3DS System Update Will Enable DLC Content

Among all the great games and updates Nintendo announced at their Nintendo Direct Press Conference today was more info on the next 3DS System Update, which is coming sooner than we thought.  Features available from this update include the ability to create folders on your home menu to organize games and apps, eShop recommendations, and new content from games like Mario Kart 7 and many more.  Also mentioned in Japan is fixes to bugs in certain retail games, so keep an eye out for more news on that as well.  The DLC update to Mario Kart 7 will be available during mid-May, so we’ll probably hear more about that soon in the coming weeks. The Life-Sized Mario Kart Get Delivered To Owner

GameStop has had some pretty amazing rewards in the past, but this one leaves all the others in the dust.  Thanks to Nintendo of America, GameStop had a contest to win two life-sized Mario Karts.  These two karts are completely drivable, and look just like the karts from Mario Kart 7.  Nathanial Stehley (above) was one of the two lucky winners of this epic reward, and the kart was presented at his home in Clarksville, Tennessee.  This masterpiece (made by West Coast Customs) is one thing I would love to have in my garage!  What do you think? -Greg Boe (admin) Continue Reading →

Miyamoto’s Thoughts on Toad In Mario Kart..

When chatting with Entertainment Weekly, Shigeru Miyamoto said that his favorite character in the Mario Kart series was Mario, for his balanced attributes.  When asked what his least favorite character was, Miyamoto quickly said Toad.  Many players favor toad least because of his slightly annoying voice and tiny body, but ever since I played Super Mario Kart on the Super NES, Toad has been my favorite character!  What do you think? Who’s your favorite Mario Kart character? -Greg Boe (admin)

New Characters Announced for Mario Kart 7!

In the latest issue of Nintendo Power Magazine, the NP crew revealed some new features in Mario Kart 7 for 3DS, including two new characters.  The first character is Wiggler, a caterpillar made famous from Super Mario World for Super NES.  The second character is the Honey Queen from both Super Mario Galaxy games, making me wonder if Nintendo has actually run out of good characters to put in their Mario Kart games.  What do you think, readers?  Let us know your thoughts in the comments! - Greg Boe (admin)
