Why Wasn’t the Nintendo 3DS XL Announced @ E3 2012?

This is a question many of you gamers have been asking yourselves.  Lucky for you, Nintendo has addressed this, and I’m sure you’ll wanna know why.  According to Nintendo:

“At E3 we had very specific announcements that we wanted to focus on,” reads a statement provided via Nintendo PR. “We had a lot of things to talk about, and we had to decide which things were most appropriate for each method of announcement. E3 is just one of the many opportunities for companies to make announcements, and we’re always looking for the most appropriate ways to both inform and surprise consumers.”

So, as you already know, Nintendo has a different way of doing things, and that’s why we are such devoted supporters of them.  It’s the people who do things differently that change the way we live, and Nintendo is one great example of this.  Stay tuned for more info! -Greg Boe (admin)

E3 2013 Might Not be in Los Angeles

The Electronic Entertainment Expo may not be returning to its normal spot in Los Angeles, California.  Michael Galagher, president of the ESA, said if the issues with the construction of the farmer’s field are not fixed, they may be forced to hold the amazing show somewhere else. Gallager didn’t give us any word on what other cities he has been in talks with. Exetutives that are close to the ESA said that Chicago, New Orleans, New York and San Franciso are some likely spots for E3 2013.  What do you think? -Tommy Robinson

IGN: How Nintendo Lost E3 2012

I admit that Nintendo’s E3 presentation last week wasn’t their best, but they still beat the other shows with some great titles coming before the end of 2012. While Ubisoft’s show was a bit more exciting (mainly because of Tobuscus), my favorite E3 presentation this year was Nintendo’s. Unfortunately, IGN doesn’t feel the same way about this. According to IGN’s Richard George:

“High expectations. Poor presentation. A lack of substance. A narrow focus. Any publisher can be guilty of some of these items at any given E3. Nintendo somehow managed to do all of them in one year, and what’s worse is that it genuinely had some very interesting things to say. It simply said them in the wrong place at the wrong time in the wrong way.”

I do agree that Nintendo should have spent more time on games like Pikmin 3 and less time on Nintendo Land, SiNG and Wii Fit U, but this doesn’t mean Nintendo didn’t have a good E3. What do you think? -Greg Boe (admin)

Nintendo is Still Deciding On Nintendo Wii U Launch Titles

Reggie Fils-Aime has shared that Nintendo hasn’t yet decided which of their 1st party titles will be available for the Wii U at launch. While games like Pikmin 3 were already confirmed completely, we aren’t too sure about some of the others. According to Fils-Aime:

“We want to see what resonates. We want to understand which games and experiences really resonate with consumers, and then use that information to make decisions moving forward. This is something we’ve done every launch year. We did it with DS, we did it with Wii, we did it with 3DS. We’ll take all of the information coming from E3 and use it to make final decisions on launch date, launch price, configuration, launch day software, launch window software, and follow up-software. Because now we have the benefit of information.”

So it looks like Nintendo wants your opinion on what games will be available, along with the price and more. One easy way to let them know what you want is to share your opinion on Nintendo Charged! Stay tuned for more info! -Greg Boe (admin)

Preview: Scribblenauts Unlimited (Wii U/ 3DS)

If I could choose one DS game to recommend for you readers to play on a long trip, I would definitely pick 5th Cell’s incredible puzzle game, Super Scribblenauts.  At last week’s Nintendo E3 2012 presentation, Jerimiah Slaczka made an appearance on stage, announcing the fourth title in the famous series, Scribblenauts Unlimited for the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS systems.  Scribblenauts Unlimited has many improvements upon the previous games, offering the very first open overworld, along with the backstory of why exactly Maxwell is driven to collect all those Starites. Paper Mario: Sticker Star – Revealed For Nintendo 3DS

We’ve been seeing little videos and screenshots here and there from a new Paper Mario game on the Nintendo 3DS ever since the system was announced two years ago at E3 2010. Fast-forward two years later, and Paper Mario: Sticker Star was finally announced for Nintendo 3DS. In this new Paper-thin game, Mario can collect stickers hidden all over the land, and use them to his advantage during battles and more. Nintendo Japan Stock Falls After Bad Press From Their E3 Show

While Nintendo’s E3 2012 press conference failed to excite many gamers, many members of the press were way too hard on the company afterwards just because they didn’t see any new Zelda or Super Smash Bros. games. Because of this negative reaction, Nintendo of Japan’s stock has fallen 2.68 percent. Yeah, not too good. Many Nintendo fans were mad after the presentation because of the lack of the titles I mentioned earlier, but I would much rather wait a bit until Nintendo is further in development with them before getting any major news or trailers, mainly because I’m an impatient man. Also, Nintendo’s business strategy this year was well thought out, because every game shown at the presentation will be out before the year’s end. What do you think? -Greg Boe (admin)
