Ubisoft: Wii U GamePad Latency Is 1/60th Of A Second

Out of all the third-party support for the Wii U, Ubisoft has been the most supportive. The company loves the system and has had good words to say about it for a while now. Michel Ancel, the head of development Rayman Legends on the Wii U, Gave his thoughts about the Wii U game pad and the latency. He seems to be very impressed, saying: “it’s more advanced than people think.”  based on what everyone has said, it seems all the criticism seems to come from people who have never gotten their hands on the system. Michel added:

“It’s crazy because the game is running in full HD [on the television], we are streaming another picture on the GamePad screen, and it’s still 60 frames per second. And the latency on the controller is just 1/60 of a second, so it’s one frame late. It’s crazy, it’s so fast. It’s almost instant.”

Latency seems to be a concern for many gamers, especially for first person shooters. I’m sure a lot of you don’t understand all these terms, and might have no idea what we’re talking about. So if the Wii U had bad latency, there might be a few seconds of delay between the GamePad and your TV screen. Sure there is a 1/60th of a second of delay, but you can’t even notice it. You would need some kind of super-vision to complain about something like that! -Tommy Robinson
