Nintendo Drops Price of Wii to $129.99

You heard right! Starting Oct. 28, the Nintendo Wii will be experiencing a price drop down to the retail price of $129.99! Nintendo usually does things like this for the holiday season, and it seems this year that they’re doing it slightly earlier, possibly to create hype for the Wii U maybe? This price drop finds the system bundled with two awesome games, in this case Wii Sports & Wii Sports Resort, two of the games that pioneered the Wii’s control scheme and made way for Kinect and Move for it’s competing systems! This looks to be a great value for those who have yet to own this system and can’t afford the  Wii U at launch.  In the words of Scott Moffitt (The Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Nintendo of America)

Nearly six years after it launched people are still attached to the pure, inclusive fun of the Wii console. A new suggested retail price and two great games make it an easy choice for families looking for a great value this holiday season.”

In my opinion, this is a great deal for those who haven’t owned a Wii and are unsure of getting the Wii U. If this describes you, what are you waiting for? This is a great chance to test out what was undoubtably the one of the most hyped Nintendo systems at its launch! -Adam Keene
