There are a lot of obvious differences between the six-year-old Nintendo Wii U and its upcoming successor, the Wii U, but Nintendo has revealed something about the difference in design of the consoles that you may (or may not) have noticed. Here’s what they said:
“The Wii went out into the world with a mainly vertical design, so in order to create a distinction, we went with a mainly horizontal design for the Wii U. But we have prepared a stand so that it can also stand upright.”
So umm… There you go. This isn’t really all that important, but it’s cool to know, I guess. For those of you wondering, yes, you can still stand your Wii U vertically with a stand that’s sold with the Wii U Deluxe box set, and sold separately for those who buy the Basic Set. Cool beans.
