Who’s Frozenbyte?  These guys are the developers of the Trine series, which made its debut on PC, PSN, Mac, Linux, and OnLive in 2009.  The developers are bringing the series to the Wii U eShop with Trine 2: Director’s Cut, which improves on the original Trine 2 (released in 2011) in every way possible.  Frozenbyte’s Lauri Hyvärinen seems to enjoy the Wii U eShop, and has shared his thoughts on it:

“Nintendo is taking online very seriously with Wii U. Everything we have seen and heard about the Wii U eShop sounds very promising.”

“Our hopes as developers are quite simple: inexpensive updating and easy certification process. That’s really it. If the Wii U eShop can deliver either one of these, or even both, then we will be very happy!”

So it looks like even Hyvärinen hasn’t really seen much of the eShop himself, but is definitely very confident about it, since the company is bringing this game to the system at launch.  If you guys are interested in the Wii U eShop, I can write a speculation article on it if you like.  Stay tuned for more on Trine 2: Director’s Cut!
