Wii U Has Different Audio Channels for Television and Control Pad

Surround sound is getting bigger, with movies, tv, and now it’s starting to spill over into gaming as well. However, the Wii U is taking it to a whole new stage. The Wii U will feature one channel of audio that is passed through the tv, which will be what most games feature (music, distant sounds, etc.) and this will likely have surround sound capabilities. However, the renown control pad will also feature speakers of some kind and will be able to play audio that is supposed to be closer to you or more intense. This could include dialog from other characters that are nearby (or even thoughts), sounds that occur nearby, or perhaps chat from other players online. Surely, this will be another feature that brings us together and changes the face of gaming. What do you think? -Ryan Baxter
