It’s safe to say that we are all curious what the price for the Nintendo Wii U will be. There has been plenty of speculation, ranging from $200 to $350, but a definite price has yet to be set. The latest prediction is a price announcement coming in September, with the reason being Microsoft and Sony. Once a price is announced by Nintendo for the Wii U, both Microsoft and Sony will drop the prices of the Xbox 360 and PS3, respectively, to compete with the Wii U. Therefore, a later announcement means less time for Microsoft and Sony to get much farther ahead in anticipation of the Wii U.
While this isn’t a guaranteed or absolute date, it seems likely that this would be an opportune time to announce the price. While it keeps the consumers in growing anticipation of the impending console launch, it decreases the amount of consoles that Microsoft and Sony will be able to sell in between the price announcement and the Wii U’s release.
