Over the last few years on the DSi Shop, there have been a slew of DSiWare titles. Some titles, like Shantae: Risky’s Revenge were true master pieces. We highly recommend these. Some… Not so much… Cat Frenzy has come out very close to the inevitable end of the Nintendo DSi’s life, so you could expect it to be a decent title, right? You’ll just have to wait and see! -Dallas B.
In this game, you’re challenged to get rid of as many cats as possible in as little moves as you can. You accomplish this by pushing, pulling, and dropping rows of different colored cat heads to line them up. You start out with a certain amount of cats, and when you line up three or more cats of the same color, they explode! What more could you ask for in a video game?! The coolest thing is when you can get a large cain reaction going; you’ll want to show everyone how you’ve managed to get row after row of cat heads disappear in sequence.
Cat Frenzy has a free play mode where you get more cats for every one you make disappear, and play till there are no more cats on the screen. There’s also a mission mode, in which you have to make a certain amount of cats disappear well following the rules the level has given to you; for instance, you might be given challenge of making to separate chains of cats disappear by moving only one cat. This mode is cool because it helps you think before you move, which comes in handy if you’re looking to improve your score in free play mode. The game does for very well for what it’s designed to do, so I don’t really have any complaints about the way gameplay works, but it is important to note that this isn’t a game you’d play for hours on end.
In short, though Cat Frenzy is a downloadable game, it does feel more like an app to me, and I’d advise you to play it in short doses, but don’t be deceived, this game is very fun. So if you’re looking for a brain-busting good time in short portable doses, you can, download Cat Frenzy on the eShop today!
Cat Frenzy gives you all the benefits of playing with cats without even touching them, so being someone who’s allergic to cats, this is a huge plus for me.
