Miyamoto Wants Wii U Game Pad to Be the Center of Attention

It’s safe to say that the Nintendo Wii U Game Pad is the most exciting feature on the upcoming system.  While you’ll have the option to play with Wii Remotes and the new Nintendo Wii U Pro controller, this new tablet-style controller is pretty darn cool.  According to Nintendo’s legendary Shigeru Miyamoto:

“With the Wii U, a system that we’re trying to make into the center of the living room, our ultimate goal is that this might be the most looked-at screen in the house, the screen on the GamePad itself, even more so than the television. That’s our goal.”

This goal could easily be reached by Nintendo if they keep up the great work, and continue to use the Game Pad in innovative ways, similar to how they kept their ideas fresh with the Nintendo DS for almost a decade before the Nintendo 3DS took center stage.  What do you think? -Greg Boe (admin)
