Namco Bandai is Developing the Next Super Super Smash Bros.

Nintendo has a lot of amazing new games coming out ranging to a new Pikmin, Luigi’s Mansion, and Super Mario, so it makes sense that they will be seeking some help from development studios for help on the majority of these.  The biggest surprise came when Nintendo announced that Namco Bandai will be developing the next Super Smash Bros. game on Nintendo Wii U and 3DS.  Tetsuya Akatsuka (SoulCalibur) and the main development team from the Tekken series will be working on the project alongside Director Yoshito Higuchi (Tales of Vesperia) and Producer Kenya Kobayashi (Ridge Racer).  Expect to see some characters from famous Namco Bandai franchises make an appearance in the next Super Smash Bros. title. Stay tuned for more info! -Greg Boe (admin)

I hope they don’t add more than 5 Namco Bandai characters, or else this won’t really be a Smash Bros. game…

I have to disagree. Even if Namco Bandai throws in 15 characters from their franchises, as long as Nintendo has at least 3/4 of the roster, this could actually improve the amount of characters to choose from, and the gameplay altogether.
