Final Fantasy Creator Developing a New Wii U Action RPG?

Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi has shown some amazing support for Nintendo, most notably with The Last Story on the Nintendo Wii, which is launching soon in North America.  We may not have to wait too long to see another one of his Nintendo projects, as there are already rumors of work on an action RPG for the Nintendo Wii U.  According to Takuya Matsumoto:

The development team and Sakaguchi-san are looking forward to making more, especially for the Wii U because it has another [screen] right in front of you that will add another level of strategic elements into the action-RPG. So we are really looking forward to it, but we haven’t really planned anything.

So while it seems quite obvious that Sakaguchi will be working on a Wii U title, but we don’t know exactly what it will be like other than the fact it’s an action RPG.  I’m hoping for a sci-fi fantasy title from Mistwalker, similar to the earlier direction of The Last StoryStay tuned for more info! -Greg Boe (admin)
